100% Privacy

We run colorization on our private, dedicated GPU servers. This ensures that your data never leaves our secure environment.

Broadcast ready

We offer colorization at the original resolution (also 4K) without additional compression.

No AI Training

We never use your videos and images for AI training or any other purpose.

Not Public

All colorized images and videos are strictly tied to your account and accessible only by you.

No Watermark

We don't add watermarks to the colorized files to give you maximum freedom when using the images or videos.

No attribution

With our service, you can colorize without having to mention us in the credits.

Tutorial

  1. After logging in, select the video file or image that you would like to colorize.
  2. Select the option to receive an email notification once the file is finished (recommended for videos).
  3. If you select an image, processing will start immediately after uploading. This process can take between five seconds and several minutes. In the meantime, you can leave the page or upload the next picture.
  4. After choosing a video, you can select the resolution and confirm the task once the upload is complete.
  5. You can track the status of all your processes on the Processes page.

Best Practice

Do's

  • Use black-and-white images or videos. If they have a sepia tone, convert them to pure black and white first.
  • Test the colorization process on a small sample (1 frame) before uploading an entire video clip.
  • If you plan on upscaling a video or image, colorize it first and then use your upscaler.
  • Upload short clips instead of long videos.
  • You can upload multiple files one after the other. They will then be processed either in parallel or in the order they were uploaded.
  • The best format for uploading is H.264 MP4 with an average bitrate between 4 and 20 Mbit/s.

Don'ts

  • Do not upload drawings or animation videos/images — colorization will not work.
  • Do not upload illegal content.
  • Avoid using low-quality, pixelated, or heavily compressed footage.
  • Do not upscale videos or images prior to colorizing them.
  • A higher resolution does not necessarily produce better results because the model was trained using small images.
  • Don't upload long videos. Shorter videos of less than three minutes often have better results.

Rules for using AI Colorized Footage in Film Productions

  • You can use colorized footage from our service at no additional cost, just as you would with the original footage.
  • You don't need to mention our service. However, if you would like to, you can certainly mention it. Feel free to use our logo or name in the credits. You can download the logo from the press page.

Ethics & Transparency

For transparency, you may want to clarify for your viewers that the footage was colorized using AI and was not originally in color. Below are some examples of what this text could look like.

Examples for On-Screen Notes
  • Colorized using AI
  • Colorized for dramatic presentation
  • Colorized image
  • Digitally colorized
Examples for End Credits
  • For presentation purposes, some historical images and videos have been colorized by AI. The original images were in black and white.
  • Archival black-and-white images have been colorized by AI.
  • Black-and-white images colorized by AI in respect to the original material.

Over DeOldify

Pricing

With this tool, we provide easy access to colorizing models in the form of online GPU rendering. The pricing is pay-per-use. You only pay for what you use. This makes it more efficient and less expensive to use for small projects or just to experiment. Also, your files are kept private and are not shared with anyone.

Videos

The rendering service costs 1 AI credit per second of video for standard resolution colorization and 2 AI credits for high resolution colorization (same as source). 1 AI credit is approximately $0.08. We offer 20% discounts for larger volumes.

If you need to colorize more than 60 minutes of video for a project in total, please consider contacting our team for custom solutions or a dedicated GPU render server.

Images

Pro Member can colorize images for free.
